Privacy policy

This policy explains the information RoboMowerIndex handles and the choices available to you. We collect only what supports catalog research, accounts, community participation, security, and service operation.
Information we collect
If you create an account, we store your email address, public display name, password hash, verification state, and session metadata such as browser description and expiry. We also store information you submit in owner ratings, questions, answers, discussions, replies, reports, follows, and helpful votes. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
Security and abuse prevention
We use one-way hashes derived from network addresses and email addresses, short-lived rate-limit records, and moderation history to secure accounts, prevent duplicate voting, investigate abuse, and protect contribution quality. These records are not used to show a precise location.
Photos and ownership evidence
Owner-review photos can become public only after moderation. Optional ownership evidence is stored privately, is available only to authorized reviewers, and is scheduled for deletion after its review window. Public photos and private evidence are queued for reliable removal when the associated account is deleted.
Cookies, preferences, and analytics
A secure cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage remembers comparison selections and market preferences. Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregate page and performance information; protected admin pages and private review-management URLs are excluded or sanitized before analytics events are sent.
Service providers and outbound links
RoboMowerIndex relies on Vercel for hosting, analytics, and file storage; Neon for the application database; and Resend for account and contribution emails. These providers process information only as needed to operate the service. Retailer, manufacturer, video, and affiliate links open third-party sites with their own privacy practices.
Retention and control
Security tokens and sessions expire, short-lived abuse-prevention buckets are cleaned up, and private ownership evidence has its own deletion schedule. Signed-in users can download a structured copy of their account data or permanently delete their account from the account page. Deletion removes account details and private activity while anonymizing public contributions as Deleted user so conversations and ratings remain understandable.
Children
RoboMowerIndex is a product-research service for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information for a child.
